The duration of the permit varies but can be issued for up to three years, proportional to the length of your study program.

Timeline for Online Study Eligibility
It’s important to note the changes in policy due to the pandemic. Up until September 1, 2023, students studying online from abroad may complete 100% of their programs without affecting their eligibility for a PGWP. Post this date, the length of the study period completed outside Canada will be subtracted from the duration of the PGWP.
