There are two primary types of sub-categories within the SINP: enhanced and base. The enhanced sub-category, known as Saskatchewan Express Entry, falls under the International Skilled Worker Category and is aligned with the federal Express Entry system. This system manages permanent residence applications through Canada’s three main economic class immigration programs. Candidates in the Express Entry pool receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, with the highest scorers invited to apply for permanent residence. Receiving a nomination through an enhanced program like the SINP adds an additional 600 CRS points to a candidate’s score, almost guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
However, most of SINP’s streams are base streams, not associated with the Express Entry system. Nominees through these streams need to apply directly to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
